Jeff Yin is a Chicago-based dance photographer specializing in ballet, contemporary, with a body of work built since 2017 around a singular focus: dance. His style blends fine art sensibility with the raw authenticity of street photography — favoring mood, emotion, and technical precision over manufactured perfection, with no reliance on digital manipulation to create a line or shape a dancer didn't actually achieve.
That focus has taken Jeff beyond Chicago to photograph dancers on location in Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh, Tampa, Austin, and New York, often built around summer intensives, auditions, and career milestones.
In January 2023, Jeff was commissioned to photograph a Breitling event featuring the brand's longtime ambassador, two-time NBA MVP and NBA Champion Giannis Antetokounmpo, where Breitling CEO Georges Kern conducted a live interview with him. It's a different world than a sunrise shoot with a 14-year-old ballerina at the Bean — but it reflects the same standard Jeff brings to every session: precision, presence, and an eye for the moment that actually happens.
Jeff maintains a deliberately limited number of sessions each year, ensuring every client receives his full attention. To inquire about availability, get in touch.
